Q scholarships — 10 of them — are being made available for Southside participants by Eva’s Heroes Summer Fashion Camp at Palo Alto College July 8 to 12th. . . . that’s right, Eva’s Heroes — a nonprofit organization co-founded by Eva Longoria. Eva’s Heroes works with older teens and adults that have special needs or are intellectually-challenged. Eva’s Heroes is set to have a Southside branch at Palo Alto in an effort to broaden its reach in our community. First order of business: a fabulous summer fashion camp.
From Monday July 8th through Friday July 12th, 35 participants will learn everything about producing a fashion show that will take place July 12th with a benefit luncheon at Palo Alto from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; tickets are $50 for guests and a discount will be offered for family members of participants.
Participants of Eva’s Heroes Summer Fashion Camp will learn everything from hair and makeup from Palo Alto’s School of Cosmetology students, styling tips from Dillard’s North Star Mall during a fabulous shopping spree with all the perks deserving of Eva’s Heroes including a breakfast buffet, fragrance swag bag, facials and makeup pampering and personal attention from the Dillard’s staff helping participants get their look for the runway. Followed by the best photography lessons and tips from San Antonio Express-News photographer William Luther, model walk lessons from S.A.’s model and talent maven, Lari Nelson and her amazing models and best of all, they’ll take everything learned all week and produce a fashion show with the participants doing it all with a few surprises, too!
Tickets are $50 for a wonderful catered lunch and the show featuring the latest summer fashions from Dillard’s as selected by the participants themselves.

The biggest part of the night is the presentation of scholarships. Eva’s Heroes would love to fill their final 10 spots with Southsiders. So if you know anyone who would like to participate call (210) 694-9090 to request a scholarship application and gain more information. Let’s support our deserving Southside community — and all of San Antonio with this beautiful effort from Eva’s Heroes participants.
Our hearts are in it and I know yours will be, too.
