22 May Harry Styles Stars in New Gucci Men’s Tailoring Campaign!
Harry Styles. From X Factor contestant to pop phenomenon and now, fashion icon. Even in his One Direction era, Styles demonstrated his outlandish style on stage and often on red carpets, always going above and beyond, something that has continued and intensified over the years – especially through his relationship with the house of Gucci. The musician is a perfect embodiment of Alessandro Michele’s vision of masculinity for the brand; a vision that is at once modern and historical, elegant and extravagant, fantastical and flamboyant. Styles has worn the brand’s clothes on stage and on the red carpet, most recently at the 2019 Met Gala, where he modelled a custom ivory silk poplin shirt and black high waisted trousers. He’s appeared in the house’s campaigns, too- being named the official face of The Gucci Men’s Tailoring Campaign for the past three drops – the most recent of which is unveiled today.
We’ve seen Styles pose in a north London chip shop and a Roman villa for previous campaigns, this one sees the musician model Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2019 Men’s Tailoring Collection among “a dreamscape of statuary and paraphernalia”, including colorful suitings and houndstooth capes among statues, sculptures, artworks and, of course, some farm animals. In a short promotional video by film and image maker, Harmony Korine, the campaign is brought to life, following Styles through a sculpture garden, an artsy office space and an overcrowded storage loft.
And if you think Korine’s video isn’t enough. Heres a look into the rest of the campaign shoot. Styles was made to rock Gucci- could we be any more obsessed? Probably not.
