This year, Aveda’s quest to provide more people across the globe with unlimited access to clean water turns 10, so K. Charles & Co Salons is marking the anniversary, along with thousands of other Aveda locations worldwide, with a Catwalks for Water fashion show showcasing earth-friendly fashions made from recycled materials. This past Saturday, the K Charles team put on their very first fashion show in participation of this initiative and the results were extraordinary. Not only were the recycled fashions hand-made, but the visionary hair and spectacular makeup were also actualized by the multi-talented K Charles team.

The event is designed to raise awareness that clean water is not something to take for granted. It may flow freely from our taps, but there are more than one billion people across the globe who do not have access to it.

ABOUT K. Charles & Co. Salons

Our service is designed to serve our valued guests in the best manner possible. This is a brief overview of our culture.

Our salon environment has been developed to ensure timely service for our guests through true team participation among our service providers. We have developed a team-based service program to ensure that our goals of excellence and timeliness are met. Services that might otherwise take weeks to schedule with a desired service provider can be readily appointed by coordinating and sharing tasks with team members. The stylist with whom you are appointed is responsible for orchestrating any tasks he/she may assign to team members and is ultimately responsible for fulfilling your expectations. We spend many hours training together to ensure the service provided is consistent, no matter whose hands are involved.

Founded in 1978 in Minneapolis, MN, Aveda creates high performance, plant-based products for beauty professionals and consumers. Aveda innovates in botanical technologies, combining the principles of modern science and Ayurveda, the ancient healing are of India, to develop performance-driven hair, skin and body products-made with pure flower and plant essences-that are created with respect for the Earth, and a comprehensive menu of ritual-based treatments for holistic beauty.

Throughout the years, Aveda has pioneered new benchmarks of environmental responsibility in beauty. It was the first company to sign the Ceres Principles in 1989 – a nonprofit organization mobilizing business leadership on climate change, water scarcity and other sustainability challenges – and the first beauty company to manufacture with 100 percent wind power in its primary facility. Aveda was also the first beauty company to receive a Cradle to Cradle charter for its commitment to sustainable products, packaging and production. In 2013, Aveda was honored with the first Legacy Leaders Award from Cradle to Cradle for its pioneering role in environmental leadership.   Currently 11 products are Cradle to Cradle Certified. Since 1999, Aveda’s annual Earth Month campaign, held each April, has raised more than $44 million to support environmental projects around the world.
