The Embroidery Touch by Socorro Society

This past Sunday, May 6, 2018 owner, Lauren Gonzalez of Socorro Society, shared her passion and unique techniques of fashion embroidery during one of her in store workshops. During her class, Lauren shared her 7 basic stitch techniques that captured the true essence of her vintage brand, Socorro Society.

Upon registering for this class, each attendee received a useful starter kit that included needles, hoop, scissors, floss, needle threader, and nippers and a print out of her favorite tip and tricks. The stitching techniques learned included, the running stitch, backstitch, satin stitch and Lauren’s favorite, the chain stitch!


Socorro Society is one of three brands featured at the new OPEN Downtown Pop Up Shops, located at 140 E. Houston Street in San Antonio. With her fellow shop mates “Pink and Silver Fashion” and “Jane of All”, these women have a very unique vintage embroidery style filled with fun and colorful details as seen in this embroidered patch Denim Jacket by Pink and Silver Fashion.
