I’m sure we’re not the only ones excited for the start of the Fiesta season. It’s time to celebrate in style! Last night’s UIW Cutting Edge Fiesta Fashion Show did not disappoint. The student designers showcased their senior capsule collections, each individually unique and special in their own way. There was edge, sass, fiesta fun and a sneak peek into what the future of our San Antonio fashion community has in store.

Students at the University of the Incarnate Word studying a B.S in Fashion design, management & product development worked long hours for over a year creating a collection to showcase at the show. They were graded on construction and overall design.
We spoke with a few of the students backstage and the excitement was electric! Bailee Randall, designer of the Agate Collection told us “I’m so excited! It’s been 4 years leading up to this and it feels like its finally coming full circle!”

Alejandrina Sanchez, designer of Cultura de Muertos (Culture of the Dead) who won many awards for construction, design and people’s choice said “I’m feeling very nervous but very excited to see all of our hard work pay off! It’s definitely all worth it in the end, seeing your designs shine and seeing the reactions of the audience!”
