SAVE THE DATE! On November 11, 2017 from noon to 10:00 pm, Southtown the Arts District hosts Southtown the Arts District Festival, the District’s second annual celebration of the creative culture housed within its boundaries.
Southtown the Arts District Members are uniting and activating their spaces for YOU! It’s time to “Meet the People in Your Neighborhood” on November 11th and enjoy all the FREE events, specials and experiences offered by Southtown’s many professional artists and local nonprofits. Some participating community include, Say Sí, Blue Star Contemporary MOSAIC Program, S.M.A.R.T. and Luminaria. Engage with the creative community throughout the day and enjoy the art workshops, open studios, live music, Veterans Day events, local eat and drink specials and so much more! Continue the fun as the festival will flow into the evening with thier monthly Second Saturday Artwalk in the Lone Star neighborhood.
Additionally, Luminaria’s day time activation programming will take place throughout the
Community’s five dynamic neighborhoods (Collins Garden, King William, Lavaca, Lone Star,
Community partner HEB will host the Open Doors Veterans Day Event on the HEB Headquarter
campus. Live music, Open Doors project, food and fun in honor of our Veterans!
People are encouraged to bike, walk, skate to events. Several bike rental businesses such as
Blue Star Bike Shop and B-Cycle will be offering discount bike rental for the day. An easy way to
connect to everything is by utilizing our San Antonio waterways: the San Antonio River and
