1.  Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion

This past weekend, our Street Beat Style Contributor, Jessica Mosqueda took a trip to Dallas, Texas to experience the Iris van Herpen: Transforming Fashion exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. The exhibit currently showcases 45 outfits from 15 different collections created from 2008 through 2015.

Van Herpen is known for her avant-garde style and her exploration of new fabrics created by manipulating iron filings in resin. Past experimental pieces have included umbrella tines and magnets as well as pushing the boundaries of the current 3-D printing wave. Her work has been worn by Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Björk and has graced the runways of Amsterdam, London and Paris.  The exhibit will be up until August 20, 2017 and is absolutely worth the drive to Dallas.

2. The Frida Fashion Show during Frida Fest 2017

This past Saturday, July 15th, Wonderland Mall filled with fans of Frida Kahlo in a tribute hosted by Que Retro Arts and Viva Vegeria. During the all day festival two designers, Brittany San Miguel and Gennifer Velasquez took to the runway to display their latest collections inspired by the beloved artist. Also featured, was Gutter Bunny Reflective Jewelry from San Antonio.

3. An Evening on South Beach Fashion Show

The event had major South Beach vibes, with scantily clad male models walking through the crowd while helping models to the runway. Every collection presented by local designers & shops showed their Summer best. The drinks were flowing and the guests were dancing, proving this event to be a great Summer shindig. So many beautiful people, dressed as if they stepped right out of Ocean Drive.  Catch the sneak peek footage above and stay tuned for more fashion news on Style Lush TV.
