Last Thursday, our San Antonio Arts & Culture Department held it’s opening for MetaDada: High Art for the POPulace. This exhibition showcases 11 professional San Antonio-based artists whose methods combine Dada and Pop Art. Each artist employs the gallery wall as a means of display through murals and installation, for his/her two-dimensional artwork. We had the pleasure of being invited to this fantastic show and while every single wall is a triumph, one wall stood out to us for its unique dark interpretation of high fashion.
Jason Ibarra, also known as PopGuy, is no stranger to Style Lush TV. In fact, we have been following his artistic career for the past three years, are proud owners of his Kate Moss is Boss piece and have nominated him for Fashion Artist of the Year back in 2015 for his Bad Boys of Fashion Collection.

This time around, PopGuy focuses his work on collage art. Pulling from many magazine and editorial resources, PopGuy’s work features over 1000 cuts, his signature mirror imaging and of course the dark street art vibe we have come to love and admire.

With many other symbolic and hidden secrets to his work on display, you are going to want to check out this episode. Then, go out to 115 Plaza de Armas to see his work in person. Many pieces have already been sold but he assures us there are still some available. MetaDada: High Art for the POPulace is free and open to the public. Hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday and will be up until August 4th.
