San Antonio Fashion Designer, Roshnic Latif announced that she will be partnering with local non-profit, The Arc of San Antonio for her 4th annual Style Beyond Borders Fashion Show to be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Whitley Theological Center (Oblate School of Theology) from 2 – 6 p.m. CST.
This will be Latif’s 4th year partnering with a local charitable organization to raise money and awareness in honor of her late parents who passed away 17 years ago. In previous years she has raised over $10,000 for organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the San Antonio Center for Refugee Services.
This year’s event will feature designs incorporated from both eastern and western influences, including hand-painted cloth & eyelet cottons with appliqué.
“Last spring break we went to Istanbul, Turkey. I loved the city, the mosques, the architecture & aroma of spice market,” says Latif. “Some of my hand-painted outfits this year are inspired by the designs I saw on my trip.”
Proceeds from this event will be donated back to The Arc of San Antonio which serves the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“We were very excited when Mrs. Latif reached out to us,” says The Arc of San Antonio’s, President/CEO, Steve Enders. “There are many organizations in this community that deserve this opportunity and we are extremely grateful and humbled that she chose The Arc of San Antonio for this year’s show.”
Tickets are $50 in advance and can be purchased by visiting http://www.arc-sa.org/2017-fashion-show-fundraiser/ or $60 at the door on the day of the show. Refreshments and raffle prizes will also be available.
