When we made the announcement for the San Antonio Fashion Awards, that the Red Carpet dress code was to be Oscars Glam or Avant Garde in 2015, so many people were ready to bring out there best and most glamorous looks that night. This year was no different, and everybody knew what to expect. That Red Carpet glistened with amazing looks and everybody brought their A-Game! It’s so difficult to choose, but we’ve narrowed down our favorite looks of the evening for this special post, taking a look back at the most exciting night in fashion for San Antonio. We celebrated all of the beautiful, amazing, and talented members of the San Antonio Fashion Awards last October 10, 2016.
Red Carpet arrivals began at 6 pm, and we had over 20 photographers locked & loaded, ready to capture this moment. I stood at the bottom of the steps, calling as many nominees, guests and sponsors to the interview station so I could have my Joan Rivers moment with them, asking them “who are you wearing” and getting their initial impressions of the night, predictions and excitement. It was so magical! Amidst the chaos of photographers, kiss & congratulates, selfies, interviews and literally running in heels, I still managed to stop to observe the beauty in all of it. We were under the stars, at the beautiful Tobin Center for Performing Arts, on the shimmering water of the Riverwalk, among some of the most amazing people in the city. And they came to SHINE! Here are some of our favorite looks of the night!
Best Dressed Women
For the ladies, we definitely spotted a few trends we were gushing over. Red was the color of the night and some guests and nominees totally rocked it! Another trend was the mermaid gown, one of my favorite shapes because of how form fitting and flattering this shape can be. All the ladies were looking beautiful that night. It really is impossible for me to pick just one favorite!
Best Dressed Men
It was anything but traditional with the men that night! We saw some true Red Carpet heroes! They mostly wore non-traditional suits and sport coats, and slayed in local designer coats. Heads were definitely turning when we saw Fabian Diaz in his custom corset and glittered beard! Talk about Avant-Garde… we were completely obsessed!
